We completed the build of a new driving range shelter for Blairgowrie Golf Club in June this year.
The full project sheet is being finalised and should be available by December however we have a sneak peek of the finished shelter pictures and project sheet below. Look out for the full project sheet launched on our website in the next few weeks.
The Project: With the lease for the existing Carsie Practice ground being terminated and the purchase of the land looking unfavourable, Blairgowrie Golf Club had to look at alternative options as to how they could provide a full game practice facility at the club.
The Captain and Committee supported the notion of building a cover for the ball striking area, perhaps a year earlier than they would have otherwise chosen to, but in the club’s 125th year, and with hosting the Junior Ryder Cup, it was felt to be the right time and a fitting legacy to both events to proceed with the project. The club contacted several contractors and ALGO were awarded the contract after all estimates were received.
Client Testimonial – Douglas Cleeton, Managing Secretary: From the outset, ALGO communicated regularly with the club. Craig Wilkinson and Nicola Stratford dealt with the various queries that I had on a weekly basis and almost always resolved the issues within 24 hours of being asked. The input given to the design of the range including the layout of the bays and finishing’s were from ALGO’s own experience and certainly made my life a good bit easier, as the changes made were explained in detail as why they were an improvement and the of the benefits they’d bring. Throughout construction Site visits were frequent and contact with me was almost daily. Where ‘tweaks’ were requested, ALGO accommodated this without any trouble. The contractors on site were a pleasure to work with and seemed to have personal interest in ensuring that this job was of the highest calibre. It was and it is.
ALGO should be proud of their team from office to construction. They defied the old adage that British workers have a poor work ethic. ALGO were professional and attentive from the word go. If the club chose to have another similar project then I would recommend ALGO as the main contractor without any hesitation. The Carsie Range & Academy is a facility planned, designed and built by many all of whom should be proud of a fantastic achievement at a modest cost and on time!
