Eight members of the Algo team have successfully completed the Great Glen Challenge. In doing so they have raised an outstanding £5,800 for the RSABI, a Scottish charity supporting people in Scottish Agriculture.
2018 was a record-breaking year for the Great Glen Challenge, with £65,637 being raised, exceeding the previous record set back in 2015. Over £300,000 has now been raised since the first Challenge back in 2012.
The event saw 26 teams competing against each other in a range of activities including a 46km mountain bike ride, 18km hike, 17km run and finally a 6km kayak.
Pre-event Algo’s sole ambition was to raise as much money as possible for the charity, but also to not finish last. One of Algo’s teams finished in an impressive second place and a special mention to Sandy Farmer who finished first in the kayaking and Stevie Matthew who came second overall in the hiking part of the challenge.
Thanks to kind donations from friends, family, and suppliers, Algo have smashed their original fundraising target of £2,000.
Nicola Reid, Office Manager at Algo said, “It was a great day out and a superb effort by all involved. A huge thanks to all of our clients, suppliers, friends, and family for their kind donations. We have been overwhelmed by the amount of support.”
