Glenalmond Estate – Sheep Shed. Perthshire

Providing high-quality housing for 1500 lambing ewes and overwintering hoggs to replace the existing old building and complement two previous Algo-build sheep sheds.

A lightweight, steel fabricated sheep shed with open sides for ventilation and easy to use internal gates and pens. Raised, concrete feed passages were installed for ease of use and bridge- style walkways over the pens to enable quick access to lambing ewes. Also, a lean-to enclosed shed with roller door for storage of machinery. All electrical and running water services were installed by Algo.

Completing the shed in time for ewes coming in for lambing in January and drawing on 25 years experience of building sheep sheds to create a slightly higher roof than the previous two sheds to allow for better ventilation. Complementing the existing part-new and part-traditional steading on this magnificent sporting and farming estate was a major achievement.

“We were very pleased with the two existing Algo sheep sheds, so there is no-one else we would have considered for this project. They bring a team of experts with 25 years experience and are very professional in the way work is carried out, completed on time and paperwork dealt with.”
