Nigel Stacy-Marks – Art Gallery. Forgandenny

When Nigel and Ginny Stacy-Marks made the momentous decision to move their successful George Street art gallery to a new, purpose-built gallery, at their home in Path of Condie just south of Perth, Algo was delighted to be appointed for the design and build. The gallery is situated in the beautiful countryside of the Ochil Hills and it was Nigel’s vision to have a building that would be contemporary yet sympathetic to the natural surroundings.

The very nature of this building dictated that finish would be a priority. The aesthetics of an Art Gallery should be tasteful and appropriate to its exhibits. Algo completed the internal finish as well as the design and build and worked closely with the client to achieve the very precise brief that had been given.

Algo devised a unique, double-pitched roof to create an immediate sense of light and space. The split-level building has external composite panels with wooden cladding to compliment the interiors hardwood flooring. The beautiful natural stonework is harmonious with the surroundings as is the finer detailing and colour choices.
