Highland Hall, Royal Highland Society, Ingliston

As the only construction contractor to build for The Royal Highland Society since 1995, Algo was the obvious choice when The Society made the decision to add the Highland Hall to the Showground at Ingliston in 2003. As well as providing penned areas for cattle and sheep during shows Highland Hall also incorporates offices and facilities at its front end.

Space here is multifunctional and is climate controlled throughout. The Society has rented this hall out to, among other events, The Gardening Scotland Exhibition, The Winter Fair, World Darts, music festivals and dances.

The relationship that has been built between The Royal Highland Society and Algo has brought a sense of pride to both parties. Today, Algo remains the only contractor to have built on the showground with The MacRobert Theatre and the ever impressive West Gate both Algo “design and build” projects.

This 10,000ft2 clearspan building was the widest of its type at the time of build. Insulated, fire rated colour plastisol sheeting finishes the exterior with the curved roof being composite panel.

“We have worked with the Algo organisation and the Alexander family for many years. They have been very instrumental in helping us develop the showground in particular the Highland Hall which has been the largest investment to date by the Society. Algo were chosen for their competitiveness, level of detail, communication and the individuals they employ which made what can be a stressful time much easier. More importantly they finished on time and on budget.”
