W P Bruce – Coldstore. Balmyle, Meigle

Due to business expansion, WP Bruce had a requirement for a new potato cold store; at the same time, they wanted storage for pea vining equipment. Having previously built a packhouse and storage solution for their fruit processing, the client appointed Algo for the second time in three years to deliver for them.

The client specifically requested that the design and build of this project should allow for future expansion of the business. As well as the layout on site, Algo also had to consider drainage and site servicing both for current activity and for potential increases.

External concrete was laid to allow ease of access, more efficient handling of materials and to enhance the professional image of the farm operation.

Although a basic agricultural building in its design, this type of building should be seen as visually pleasing and blend into the landscape. This build is representative of Algo’s attention to this matter. The finish is a colour plastisol metal profile sheeting and there is insulated cladding on the cold store.

“We like dealing with Algo because the quote you get is the price you pay. There are no hidden extras; and that’s good news in this day and age. The after sales and any snagging is readily completed and again, no extras. It’s a complete service.”
