Agriculture has never been a sideline for Algo. It is where we began, where we learned our trade, and where our reputation was first built.
Since Algo’s inception in the 1980s, agricultural construction was our core sector and the very reason the business was created. From poultry sheds and animal housing to general purpose buildings, grain stores and cold storage facilities, we built our name by delivering agricultural buildings that worked hard, stood the test of time and genuinely supported the needs of working farms.
Over the years, Algo has grown and evolved. Our expertise has expanded into other sectors, and our portfolio has diversified. But while our reach has broadened, agriculture has always remained at the heart of what we do.
Agricultural buildings remain the backbone of Algo. We continue to develop an enviable reputation within Scottish agricultural construction and are proud to be recognised as a trusted contractor throughout central Scotland. Our buildings may share familiar agricultural aesthetics, but they are far removed from basic or “kit” construction. Every project is bespoke, shaped by close collaboration between our team and our clients from initial concept through to completion.
Algo take a view of every agricultural project, carefully considering environmental factors, current and future business growth, planning and warrant requirements and opportunities for long-term diversification. This approach ensures that what we build today continues to deliver value well into the future.
We are also clear and transparent in how we price our agricultural projects. Our approach is built around fair, fully considered pricing, with no hidden costs or omissions — what is specified is what is delivered. This ensures our clients have complete confidence in the scope, quality and longevity of their investment from the outset.
What we deliver goes beyond the basics. Our agricultural buildings are known for their durability, quality of workmanship and ability to perform in real working conditions year after year. With a strong farming background within our team, we bring first-hand, earned knowledge of what agricultural buildings truly need to withstand, from weather exposure to daily operational demands.
We’ve been delighted to see a renewed momentum in our agricultural work. Algo haven’t stepped away from the sector, the reality couldn’t be further from the truth. In the past 18 months alone, we have successfully delivered over 25 agricultural projects reinforcing our ongoing commitment to the sector and the relationships that underpin it.
Agriculture isn’t something we’ve returned to, it’s something we never left. It remains a defining part of who we are, what we value, and how we build. As farming continues to adapt and evolve, Algo is proud to be supporting that journey with buildings designed for longevity and flexibility.
