Due to continued business growth, we have a brand new role for a Utilities Connection Manager to join our team.
The candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of utility service connections across Algo’s project portfolio.
This includes identifying the utility connection needs for each project, liaising with utility providers, coordinating applications and installations, and ensuring timely delivery in line with construction schedules.
This role is suitable for a proactive, organised individual with relevant experience and existing relationships within the utilities sector.
GENERAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Identify all required utility service connections e.g. electricity, water, gas, telecoms for new and ongoing projects
• Co-ordinate and manage the process of applying for utility connections where Algo is responsible
• Liaise directly with utility providers to ensure smooth and timely connection processes
• Monitor and track application progress, highlighting and resolving any delays or issues in as timely a manner as possible to avoid unnecessary and avoidable delays to project handover
• Liaise with clients and/or external design teams where responsibility for utility connections lies with them, ensuring alignment with project timelines and work programmes
• Maintain up to date knowledge of utility provider requirements, lead times and application procedures
• Provide regular updates to internal project teams (Senior Management, Project Managers and Site Managers) regarding connection status
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for all utility applications and communications
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
• Proven experience in managing utility connections within construction projects
• Strong existing network and working knowledge of utility providers
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently
• Strong organisation and communication skills
• Proactive and forward thinking in resolving issues
• Comfortable working independently whilst maintaining clear communication lines with internal colleagues and external stakeholders
• Familiarity with the construction industry and construction project timelines
• Technically minded with strong attention to detail
• Experience preparing and submitting utility applications
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is a part time role for someone who can offer consistent availability across the week though flexible hours will be required dependent on project need. Hybrid working model possible but attendance on a weekly basis at our Head Offices in Perth will be required.
